Our Programs
Hello Native School Families and Friends,
To help broaden and deepen understanding of our programs' offerings, we want to properly inform and provide clarification about our extensive programming for students and independent schoolers ages TK through 4th grade.
At The Native School, we offer both supportive enrichment and explicit instruction aligned with early elementary literacy, math, and science standards for TK-1st grade. Additionally, we provide tailored literacy support and explicit literacy interventions utilizing Orton Gillingham techniques for 2nd through 4th grade. Our various child-led exploratory enrichment classes strongly support elementary mathematics and emergent writing. In all our programs, the natural world is our main classroom setting and provides some of our richest learning contexts, allowing us to embed academics organically by utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies. All programming is 100% outdoors-based, as one of our core values is connecting children to the great outdoors. However, our team of professional educators are equally passionate advocates for developmentally appropriate practice but also robust academic education.
We will be hosting virtual Native School Family meetings to hold open conversations about all educational programming, including our Literacy & Science Collective classes for students 1st-4th grade, the Whole School Book Club, Afternoon Specialty Offerings, Parent Support and more (view linked flyers). Please join us ready to provide your feedback about last school year and questions you may have for this upcoming school year!
